Wild Venison Haunch Steak – Red Sika Deer
Our Wild Venison Haunch Steaks are hung on the bone for up to 10 days to produce a delicate gamey flavour and have less fat content than a beef or lamb steak.
Sourced from The Forest of Bowland the Sika deer eat a natural diet of grass, berries and fruits, apples, acorns and chestnuts which produces venison meat that is very lean and low in saturated fat. Fry in butter and garlic, add a few shallots and serve with a nice glass of red fruity wine.

Description
Compared to beef, venison is not only lower in fat and calories but higher in essential nutrients like iron and B vitamins. The meat has a fine, close-grained texture and very little marbling. Venison is best cooked quickly over high heat and served pink.
